Mervyn is a highly experienced and self-motivated individual with strong initiative and drive for achieving sustainable improvements in bottom-line Process and Occupational HSE performance.  He is an excellent communicator, with highly developed influencing and coaching skills.

In total Mervyn has over thirty years diverse experience within the oil and gas industry, onshore and offshore in both UK and international locations. In a twenty year offshore career he held a variety of oil industry operational roles including: OIM, HSE Supervisor and Operations Supervisor.  Onshore he has spent some eight years as an HSE Manager followed by seven years consulting on Process Safety in the oil and gas and chemical-manufacturing industries.

He holds a 1st Class Hons degree in Management Systems (OU) and this combines well with his significant experience in developing Process and Occupational Safety Management Systems and Cultures. Mervyn is also highly experienced in the application of Human and Organisational Factors in accident investigation and has a wealth of incident investigation experience as both an investigation manager and team member.

Mervyn has researched and developed an original and highly innovative Personal Safety System (the SETT system).  This is specifically designed to reduce accidents by helping the workforce improve their situational awareness.
